I’m gonna getcha!
Yes, my initial post does start out with a quote from A Very Potter Musical. I’m in the process of designing this blog, attempting to create a ‘brand’ for it, fighting with some of the HTML kinks (it’s a good job I know how to work with XHTML, XML, and CSS, right?), and trying to decide what access points I should give you, my readers. I imagine things will become clearer as time goes on, but if you have any suggestions, recommendations, or welcome messages, I would absolutely love to hear from you!
A Bit about my reasons for creating this blog ~
I’ve been contemplating my professional vs. personal life on the internet for some time now, but never made any movements towards separating the two. I’ve been complacent with my old persona, my 8 year old LiveJournal account, and the casual unprofessionalism of the life I created eons ago. Recently, I’ve been applying to jobs with heavy Social Media components, and despite 10+ years of personal experience, I don’t have one site I would feel comfortable owning up to. I am attempting to rectify that. I will not just be posting Librarian-related things in this blog, but I do hope to show a well-rounded, enticing presence of the person I have become.
A bit about me ~
I hope to expand on my “about me” section, available (currently) in a link at the top of the page in the next few days. Currently, I am searching for a fantastic job somewhere in Canada in the Library/Information field. I’ve been thinking of creating a blog that combines my interests for some time now, but I keep telling myself that no one truly has the same interests I do. False? Possibly. I love young adult books, libraries, victorian-esque designs, clothing and shoes, and technology. Consider this blog the fashionista scripturiency of an elegant librarian.
